Ripe raspberries, strawberries & other red fruit on the nose give way to a delightful fresh, soft red that is light enough to drink by itself, but which shows surprising body when paired with foods. Either perfect on its own or try with steak, casseroles, light game or hard mountain cheeses & even a ripe brie.
Vineyards are situated in and around Oberwaltersdorf.
Grapes are handpicked late September to mid-October 2009. Most are de-stemmed & partially crushed, with about 20% whole grapes left in the maceration. They are then pressed 8-14 days after the onset of fermentation with 100% aging in steel tanks.
