Pinot Noir is a notoriously difficult grape to grow & to make it into a wonderful wine takes further skill & dexterity. This is a fantastic wine with red plums on the nose as well as a subtle smokiness. The palate is harmonious with young ripe fruits & pleasing tannins allowing for the taste to develop over the long finish. A truly elegant yet approachable wine, perfect for any occasion.
The vineyards are around Oberwaltersdorf & have barren alluvial soil with high lime content.
The grapes are hand-picked with 50% de-stemmed & 50% left as whole clusters. Spontaneous fermentation occurred & pressed about ten days after the start. 50% in steel tanks & in 50% used barrels for 12 months or more.
